Logo design

We were approach by the now market-leading and well loved sockscription company The London Sock Company when they were a start-up. We were tasked with creating the company logo, with instructions to evolve this to cater for packaging and onward market collateral, including the company website and post sale printed brochures. Our logo design was based on the traditional English gentlemen and devised from fashion design publications of the late 18th and early 19th century. The intention was a 'tongue in cheek' concept that projected a premium look and feel. Our final logo set consisted of multiple logo types to cater for horizontal and vertical positioning, whilst catering for printing in solid colour or using silver foil embossing techniques.

Brochure design

As part of the post sale service, we designed and artworked a series of brochures. The brochures advertised other products in the sock range, whilst also providing details of the causes the company support and promoting their brand ambassadors at the time, such as the male model, David Gandy.

E-commerce website design

A large part of the brief was the design and development of the company website. Due to the functionality required, the website had to be a bespoke undertaking, as at that time, off the shelf e-commerce frameworks did not cater for the company's unique selling point, the monthly 'sockscription' service. We devised a series of concepts to cater for a more traditional e-commerce retail site, whilst also producing wireframes to demonstrate the user interface for the sockscription side of the business. Once the functionality was approved we proceeded to applying the brand styling to the website, before design work was passed onto our preferred developers.
