GeoPlace are a company specialising in maintaining geospatial address and street data. Pendulum were approached to design a user interface to help their users navigate this data.
What impresses us the most is that they make us feel like we are their priority.
Due to the large amount of data requiring access and the potential for a highly complex user interface, it was critical that we undertook a comprehensive wireframing and prototyping phase. During this process, the underlying system architecture was planned and presented to the client. From here, a wireframing stage involved completing a series of page layouts to cater for all the available data, ensuring an intelligent framework on which to place all on page assets. Once this stage was complete, we were able to start the process of 'skinning' the wireframes with an 'on brand' design.
The initial design focused on a user interface for desktop, to cater for the majority of users. A challenging phase of the project was to then adapt the desktop design to enable use on mobile devices. The challenge being to ensure the large amount of data could still be accessed and viewed in a way that retained a high level of functionality. Collapsed navigation systems and horizontally scrolling tables were just some of the solutions we developed to tackle this phase of the project.
